Wetlands, Waders & Raptors Tours

Wildlife trips passing close to the current Wallasea Wetland Scheme (see latest news page on the South East Essex RSPB website) on a rising Tide affording good views of the high tide roosts of the Waders, before heading into the River Roach passing the proposed new Wetlands regeneration which will seek to return the habitat to the same state as that 400 tears ago (as seen on TV). We then enter a system of narrow shallow creeks where again we expect to see good numbers of Waders as well as if we are lucky Raptors too.

Target Species include Avocet, Curlew, Lapwing, Redshank, Greenshank, Little Egret, Ringed Plover, Golden Plover, Grey Plover, Marsh Harrier, Merlin, Peregrine, Sparrowhawk and Kestral to name but some. There is always the chance of a seal or two and perhaps Harbour Porpoise or Short Eared Owl.

Trips last approximately two and a half hours and all tickets are £15.00

Trips Depart Essex Marina, Wallase Island and Burnham on Crouch on the following dates and are often accompanied by our expert guide from the RSPB.

These trips are now incorperated into most of our seal trips please ensure when booking that we confirm the tide is suitable for this !
